Board President; Public Member

Sara Rogers has built a distinguished career in public and nonprofit service, with a long-standing focus on economic and workforce development. She began her professional journey at the Wisconsin State Capitol, where she developed deep expertise in legislative processes and state budget development.

She later spent nearly 15 years as Executive Vice President and Political Director of the Wisconsin State AFL-CIO, successfully bringing together diverse unions and community organizations to advance shared policy priorities. More recently, Sara dedicated more than a decade to Employ Milwaukee, the workforce development board for Milwaukee County, where she served in a variety of leadership roles before retiring. Her work there focused on expanding career pathways by connecting employers, educators and community partners to meet industry talent needs.

In addition to proudly serving on the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board, Sara is a member of the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment and serves as the WTCS representative on the Universities of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.

Sara earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She lives in Milwaukee with her partner, Glenn, and enjoys exploring Wisconsin’s bike trails.
